BPP delegates scoop top prizes

BPP Professional Education is pleased to announce a real success story for its delegates at the recent Securities & Investment Institute Awards Ceremony, sponsored by the Association of Investment Companies (AIC).  

BPP delegates made a clean sweep in the SII Diploma category, scooping all eight awards for the modules they teach towards as well as the three overall prize winners for the SII Diploma and the overall winner for the SII Certificate Programme.  The Euroclear Prize in Memory of Andrew Winckler was also scooped by a BPP delegate.

Other highlights for BPP delegates include:

• collecting all three awards in the corporate finance category
• eight out of the ten awards for Financial Regulation (SII Certificate)
• all three award winners for the Financial Derivatives Module (SII Certificate)
• 12 of the 18 joint award winners for Introduction to Securities & Investment (IAQ™)
• the only award winner for Securities (SII Certificate)
• the only prize winner for the Advanced Certificate in Operational Risk

David Bowden, Managing Director of the Financial Services Faculty at BPP, commented; “We would like to congratulate all of our successful delegates at the latest SII Awards.  Approximately two thirds of all delegates recognised as top achievers and six out of the seven main prize winners have studied with BPP.  This is a tremendous achievement for our delegates and a testament to the hard work they have put in and hopefully the support and tuition they have received from BPP."

“It is particularly pleasing to see a really strong majority of delegates winning awards and achieving well in the SII Certificates category that have studied with BPP.  The transition from pre-MiFID to post-MiFID has involved a lot of hard work for everyone so this is extremely satisfying.”

The SII Awards Ceremony was hosted at Egyptian Hall inside Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor of London, on Tuesday 26th February 2008.  The Right Hon. The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman David Lewis, introduced the evening before awards were presented by Sir Nigel Wicks (Chairman of Euroclear), Sir David Howard (Chairman of Charles Stanley) and Ruth Martin (Managing Director of the Securities & Investment Institute).
