New Islamic Finance – Introduction course from BPP Professional Development

22/07/08

BPP have recently announced their new, highly topical one-day introductory course on Islamic banking designed for delegates working in banking, investment management or advisory firms with a need to understand the world of Islamic Finance.

Islamic finance has become one of the world’s fastest growing financial sectors as investors show an increasing appetite for a variety of Islamic financial instruments. Estimates put the value of this market at between 400 and 500 billion USD, with 10-15% annual growth expected over the next five years.

New products are being developed all the time and competition between both conventional and Islamic financial institutions for market share is set to increase significantly.

This one day training course will help delegates understand the principles of Islamic finance, Sharia laws and key Islamic products. Delegates will also develop a detailed understanding of Islamic financing contracts (Mudaraba, Musharaka, Murabaha, Ijara, Salam, Istisna).

Presented in a highly interactive format including trainer presentation and case studies, the training will evaluate the governance structure of an Islamic financial institution and will explore the roles and responsibilities of the Sharia Supervisory Board.
