Record FRM® exam enrolments for 2008

09/06/08

The Global Association of Risk Professionals recently announced a surge in 2008 FRM® Exam early registrations, exceeding the total number of early registrants in 2007 by a record-breaking 42% for its Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Program, the certification recognized by financial risk professionals worldwide.

At the close of the Early Registration period on 30 April 2008, GARP reported 9,020 early registrants for the 2008 FRM Exam, to be held on 15 November 2008. Early registrations for the 2008 FRM Exam represent 89% of the total number of all registrations received in 2007.

“As the global financial marketplace is coping with the reverberations of recent credit crises, the need for effective and competent risk management is critical, and the demand for skilled financial risk professionals has grown tremendously,” said Richard Apostolik, President & CEO of GARP. “The surge in FRM Exam registrations demonstrates strong growth in the FRM Program, which is practice-oriented and based on globally accepted industry standards, and is regarded by organizations and financial risk professionals alike as the benchmark that must be met by those who want to practice in this profession.”
