The SII (Securities & Investment Institute) has decided to enable candidates to obtain the actual marks achieved from any CBT (Computer Based Testing) examinations. This service will be available from 17 March 2008 and candidates from that date will also be able to access the actual mark for any of their CBT examination results retrospectively.
SII policy will be to continue to inform candidates of their results at grade level, but for those candidates who wish to obtain precise marks they can choose to access those through the SII website. Candidates will therefore continue to receive a provisional pass or fail grade at their test centre immediately after sitting their examination. The official confirmation of results letter, which is sent to candidates within 14 working days of their examination date, will also continue to confirm their grade.
To access the precise marks, candidates will enter the Qualification & Exams part of the website and within the ‘Results and feedback’ pages, there will be new instructions to access the precise marks. Candidates will be advised that the actual mark indicated is final.
In addition to the release of actual marks, the SII will continue to provide detailed individual performance reports to candidates who fail examinations. These reports, which clearly highlight a candidate’s strengths and weaknesses in relation to each syllabus element of their examination are available at a cost of £30 per examination and are free to candidates employed by SII Corporate Members. Performance reports are currently only available in a certain number of examination subjects.
To find out more about any of the above, please contact the SII directly on 020 7645 0600 or visit the SII website
