Qualifications

There are a many qualifications you can gain to build your skills in the IFA arena.  BPP can offer you training or learning materials towards a wide range of these, including the following:

  • Certifcate in Financial Planning
    The Certificate in Financial Planning represents the highest professional certification globally that you can be awarded as a Financial Planner and is the most recognised Financial Planning qualification in the world. After the development of common standards for mandatory 'appropriate examinations' by the Financial Services Skills Council, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) introduced the Certificate in Financial Planning as its benchmark qualification for financial advisers complying with the Financial Services Skills Council standards. Exam sittings for this qualification occur quarterly.

  • CeFA ® (Certificate for Financial Advisers)
    CeFA® is the most effective way of meeting regulatory standards required for you to advise customers on investment, retirement planning and protection options. CeFA® is examined by ifs School of Finance.

  • CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice)
    This qualification is required for you to advise customers on mortgages. With over 80% of registrations for mortgage advice qualifications, CeMAP® is the benchmark qualification for the industry. CeMAP is examined by ifs School of Finance.

  • IMC (Investment Management Certificate)
    The Investment Management Certificate (IMC) is an FSA approved threshold competency examination that aims to test your knowledge of the regulations and practices of financial markets, the categories of securities and the principles of investment management. The IMC is examined by CFA Society of the UK (formerly UKSIP).

  • SII Certificate in Investment Management (Unit 5 – Cert IM)
    Covers the fundamental approaches and methods used within the investment management industry. The course gives a solid grounding in financial maths, covering statistical techniques such as calculating standard deviation and variance, as well as approaches for discounting cash flows to obtain present values. The basic principles of financial maths are carried over into the asset valuation section as the characteristics of bonds, equities and derivatives are covered, alongside various valuation methodologies. The SII Certificate in Investment Management is examined by the Securities & Investment Institute (SII).

  • SII Masters in Wealth Management
    Offering you a professional level qualification in this niche area of the market, specifically looking at financial markets, portfolio construction theory and applied wealth management. The SII Masters in Wealth Management is examined by the Securities & Investment Institute (SII).

  • Islamic Finance Qualification
    The IFQ has been jointly developed over the last year by the Securities & Investment Institute (SII) and the Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (ESA), one of the leading business schools in the Middle East. It is the first international benchmark vocational qualification in the area of Islamic finance. The Islamic finance qualification is examined by the Securities & Investment Institute (SII).
