IFA's

IFA homepage

Welcome to the IFA section of our website where you can read information on the different training courses and study materials we can offer you to achieve recognised qualifications in the financial advice arena.  With implementation of the retail distribution review on the horizon and the constant demand from consumers for IFA’s to be more qualified, it’s never been more important for you to have recognised qualifications to give financial advice and build your business.

The retail distribution review (RDR)

Although the implications of the RDR are not yet certain, one thing we can be sure of is a greater requirement for better skills in the IFA industry as a result.  The review is likely to demand a minimum level of qualification for those strictly offering advice, so it’s never been a more important time to brush up your skills and ensure you are in a position to offer impartial advice upon implementation of the RDR.

Consumer drive for qualifications

The latest figures from IFAP (based on searches carried out on www.unbiased.co.uk) show that consumers are demanding higher level qualifications when selecting their preferred IFA.  35% of the 525,000 searches carried out on www.unbiased.co.uk by consumers looking for financial advice, demanded minimum qualifications.  So gaining recognised qualifications not only improves your skills and expertise, it also opens up more opportunities for you to attract and build new business and your client base.

Offering investment advice?

If you are an IFA offering specific investment advice, such as advising securities and derivatives to your clients, we can offer a range of qualifications that are on the FSSC appropriate exam list and offer a route to FSA approved person status.  The Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and SII Certificate in Investment Management both include regulatory examinations and specific technical skills in this area.  If you are looking to take your skills to a professional level in this area, BPP are sole suppliers of training towards the SII Masters in Wealth Management, specifically designed for constructing portfolios and giving investment advice to high net-worth clients.

BPP have provided training for financial advisers for the past 15 years, offering you access to a training provider with a wealth of experience in this arena.   The qualifications, training courses and study materials pages offer you information on how BPP can help you build your skills, knowledge and expertise as an independent financial advisor.

David Elms - Chief Executive - IFA Promotion

"IFAP are delighted to welcome BPP onboard as one of our sponsors. There is an increased demand for IFA’s to have demonstrable skills at the moment which is very much driven by consumer demand. With implementation of the RDR also on the near horizon, increased minimum skill and qualification levels in the IFA arena are just around the corner. With both of these factors in mind, it is an ideal time for IFAP to have a sponsor such as BPP Professional Education who deliver a range of training courses towards a good spread of retail based qualifications, particularly in the investment arena."
