What are BPP’s responsibilities regarding visas and immigration rules?

It is BPP’s responsibility to inform you that a student visa is granted on the basis of a student being serious about their proposed full-time study course.

NB. Full course attendance is required in order to meet immigration requirements of a full-time course. Any non-attendance will be reported to the Immigration Authorities by BPP along with any changes in the course details. BPP do this reporting on a monthly basis. Non-attendance may compromise visa renewal/approval or status. Please be aware that non-adherences to course start times and persistent lateness may be reported to the Immigration Authorities by BPP.

What are your responsibilities regarding visas and immigration rules?

It is your responsibility to attend all timetabled course and exam days (including revision days) and sign the register. Any absenteeism will be reported to the Immigration Authorities. Absenteeism due to sickness must be reported to BPP before class commences for that day. If four or more consecutive teaching days are missed through illness, a doctor’s note must be presented.

Enrolling on your course and visa application

BPP is recognised as a professional private sector full-time education supplier by the British and Irish Immigration Authorities. Please note that on average it takes between four and eight weeks for a visa application to be processed. See terms and conditions for details regarding visa refusals.

Step 1 – Register and enrol with the CFA® Institute

Register for your CFA examination direct with the CFA Institute in the USA. You can do this by visiting the CFA Institute website

Step 2 – Complete and return the BPP booking form

A copy of this form can be found in the pocket at the back of the brochure. Send the completed BPP booking form, together with payment to the appropriate address listed on the course details form. Fees relating to the course must be paid in full in advance. See Terms and Conditions section for full details and a complete list of items to be sent with the booking form. Please sign the booking form to show that you have read the full Terms & Conditions in the brochure and in the student guide. We cannot process your application without this.

Please quote your name and date of birth as a reference on the BPP booking form. We cannot process your application without this. The student guide is there to inform you fully of what to expect from a BPP course and the issues that should be considered when choosing to live in another country. It is there to protect you and BPP. Once payment has been processed, acceptance letters and the appropriate visa letters will be posted or couriered to you. These letters are a confirmation of your booking and inform you of your first day at BPP. Full course details will be sent to you approximately two to three weeks prior to course commencement.

Step 3 – Apply for your student visa

Apply for your student visa and make arrangements for accommodation (International students only). BPP is a non-residential college. The authorities are much more likely to grant visas if accommodation has been arranged. The visa form can be obtained from your local Embassy.

Please visit www.bpp.com/fsfulltimehousing for more information on accommodation in London. BPP is an agent for the International Students House (ISH) in London. The ISH offers short term accommodation to BPP students at a discounted price. Please visit www.ish.org.uk for details and email fsfulltime@bpp.com to make a booking (London locations only).

Step 4 – Make your travel arrangements

Once you have received your visa approval, make your travel arrangements. Please ensure that you bring all documentation with you (visa, BPP acceptance letters and medical insurance) as immigration officers may require written documentation.

If you require airport pick-up this can potentially be arranged by BPP for small groups of students. Make sure that you notify BPP at least 14 days in advance of travel. There will be a charge for this service, which will be communicated on your pick-up request. Please see the student guide for more details.

Step 5 – Attend BPP’s welcome day

Present yourself to BPP on the welcome day. Make sure you report to BPP on the appropriate date (you will be informed in advance of this date). The purpose of the day is to:

  • provide you with your full timetable
  • meet your fellow students
  • obtain details of BPP events arranged for full-time students
  • provide an opportunity for you to meet your course tutor
  • receive information on your BPP full-time student card and various discounts
  • learn about what you can expect during the course
